Myopia -5: the world without glasses.
Myopia and the risks for young eyes
When children spend a lot of time looking at screens up close, their eyes grow too long, causing myopia (nearsightedness). This makes far-away things look blurry.

Spending at least 2 hours outside every day helps slow down this eye growth. Studies show that screen time without enough outdoor time is the major cause of rising myopia among kids.

Myopia at a young age drastically increases the risk of irreversible eye damage later in life such as retinal detachment, glaucoma and blindness. That’s because the longer the eye grows, the more the retina is stretched and weakened.
About Viewy
Viewy is a mobile app that protects children’s eyes by teaching healthy screen habits through fun, science-based training.
Based on the scientifically backed 20-20-2-rule and WHO guidelines, Viewy turns healthy screen habits into a fun daily routine. Unlike other parental control tools that rely on restrictions, Viewy teaches kids aged 2–11 how to self-regulate their screen use - positively, playfully and independently. Parents gain clear insights and peace of mind.
Our mission: to stop a global vision crisis before it becomes irreversible.

74 million kids today, could be blind if we don’t act now.
The number of children with myopia is rising rapidly worldwide due to excessive screen time and too little time outdoors.
222 million children will develop high myopia – irreversible, with a 33% chance of severe vision loss and blindness.
By 2050, more than 50% of the world’s population is expected to have myopia. That’s 740 million children.
The earlier myopia begins, the worse it gets. Glasses won’t stop it.
Myopia at a young age drastically increases the risk of irreversible eye damage, such as retinal detachment, glaucoma and blindness.
This vision crisis leads to rising healthcare costs, educational setbacks and long-term societal impact - and yet many parents remain unaware.
